Seminars

Here is the list of seminars I gave in our Crypto Lab’s weekly meetings.

If you want to know what we are studying, send me an email : )

After 2020, since we started to do our meetings from home, we recorded some of the seminars. If you’re a student at USP and think that any of the seminars, such as Quantum Computing, may be useful to you, send me an email so that I can give you access to it. In the future, I plan to record part of the lectures which may be interesting for the general public. However, I believe that most of these are not organized enough to be shared at the moment.

Notice that most of the notes are written in Portuguese.

2021

Attacking the binary PKP

(various dates) Attacking the binary PKP (preliminary results)

Introduction to Quantum Computing

Inspired by the program of the 2021 BIU winter school, I gave a series of lectures on quantum computing to help my lab mates (and also myself) to get the most of what was presented in the school.

(10/12/2020) Introduction to what will be covered in the next weeks

(02/03/2021) Qubits and Quantum gates Notes

(09/03/2021) The Deutsch and Deutsch-Joza algorithm Notes

(16/03/2021) Grover’s algorithm Notes

(29/03/2021) Shor’s algorithm – Part 1 Notes

(06/04/2021) Shor’s algorithm – Part 2 Notes

2020

In 2020 I was mostly concerned with polishing the results on the binary PKP. I also served as a teaching assistant for the crypto course, with meeting with the students of 2h of classes per week. You can see part of my notes here.

LLL

By the end of 2020, I was interested in working with on lattice-based cryptography. I saw an interesting paper on extending LLL to binary codes and gave a series of lectures with a detailed analysis on LLL so that our new lab members could better understand the paper.

(10/12/2020) Lattices Notes

(17/12/2020) LLL – Intro Notes

(23/12/2020) LLL – Analysis Notes

2019

(25/09/2019) Verifiable delay functions

(6/08/2019) A timing attack against HQC (final results) Notes

(various dates) A timing attack against HQC (preliminary results) I presented a lot of seminars dedicated to preliminary results on the attack, with the basic idea, partial results, intuition on the proofs. Unfortunately I have only my lab notes, which are far from organized for displaying here.

(6/02/2019) Efficient encryption from random quasi-cyclic codes (HQC)
