Projects

These are the most relevant academic projects I participate in. You can also check out other games I have worked on.

USPGameDev 2009 – now

Although not a specific project per se, USPGameDev is nevertheless a major undertaking in my academic career. We research and develop games, organize events, produce didactic material (mostly in Portuguese), among other activities. USPGameDev hopes to provide a welcoming environment where students (and non-students) can study game development to complement their formation.

We also defend the use and production of free / open source software, having partnered with USP's FLOSS Competence Center (CCSL) several times. You are always welcome to attend the Global Game Jam site we host with help from both the CCSL and the Instituto de Matemática e Estatística every year.

Backdoor Route 2016 – now

One of the long-standing projects I participate in is a game from USPGameDev called Backdoor Route. It is a role-playing game where your abilities, items, and power ups all come from cards you must skillfully play while traversing a hostile, crumbling planet. Most importantly, though, this game is part of my research — I am using it as a case study on software architecture in games.
