Usina do Gasômetro (Former Gas Plant)

The Thermo-electric Power Plant, active until 1974, is today one of the most important cultural centers of Porto Alegre, with regular activities such as art expos, shows, techno-scientific meetings, theatre plays, musical performances, and many other cultural events. It also holds a large wine cellar, a bookshop, and a tourist information center.

The 107m tall chimney is the symbol of the Gas Plant, located by the Guaiba River, enjoying a beautiful view of the sunset.
