Brazil and the African continent have several aspects in common, such as the colonial past and some cultural traits inherited from the period of slavery.

This is a second joint meeting in Mathematics between Brazil and Africa organized by the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (Senegal). The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen exchange and cooperation between different research groups working in Mathematics in Brazil and Africa. The first meeting "1st Workshop Algebra, Geometry and Applications: Brazil-Africa" was held in Dakar in 2018.
