The goal is to develop a platform of highly-available, variable-consistency, mobile databases on which to build persistent, collaborative applications. These include shared calendars, document databases, collaborative program development, bibliographic databases, and others. This is part of the larger research effort to support mobile users by constructing applications designed specifically for persons away from their offices and by designing the infrastructure on which these applications are built.
