Deformation Problems for Lie Brackets Part 1: Lie algebras.
Abstract:
This is the first of two talk on deformations problems for Lie brackets.
In it I will discuss some formal aspects of deformation theory for Lie
algebras, homomorphisms, and subalgebras (including the relevant Kuranishi maps).
I will also discuss some rigidity and stability results in this context.
This constitutes the analytic counterpart to deformation cohomology.
The results to be presented are not new, and date back to the work of
Richardson and Nijenhuis in the 60's. They serve as preparation for
the results on Lie algebroids to be presented in a future talk.
Both talks will be based on joint work with Marius Crainic
and Florian Schaetz.
