Algebras in tensor categories and applications in conformal field theory.
Abstract:
A basic mathematical ingredient in two-dimensional conformal quantum field
theory is the representation category C of the vertex algebra that
describes the so-called chiral symmetries of the theory. It has recently
been established that a second, equally important, ingredient is a certein
Frobenius algebra internal to the tensor category C. In the talk I will
describe various aspects of such algebras and the role they play in
conformal field theory.
