GIOVANNI JONA-LASINIO
Universitŕ di Roma "La Sapienza"
Large deviation approach to non equilibrium processes in
stochastic lattice gases |
This course will cover in particular the following topics:
Concepts from the physics of irreversible processes
Static and dynamic large fluctuations of thermodynamic
variables and their relationship with thermodynamic functionals
Variational principles
An equation for the non equilibrium free energy
Non equilibrium decomposition of hydrodynamics
Minimum dissipation principle
Large fluctuations of the currents
Space time thermodynamics and dynamical phase transitions
Signatures of irreversibility
The nine papers proposed as reference for the course should be read
as follows. For a preliminary reading we recommend :
1. JonaLasinio.pdf a concise general introduction to some basic ideas
2. Jona_jsp1.pdf contains a systematic description of the approach
with application to the study of space-time fluctuations of the density
for some models
3. Jona_curr_jsp2.pdf a systematic treatment of current fluctuations
and related problems
