Arrival information

I. For those arriving in São Paulo at Guarulhos Airport and need/want to come to the city:

You can take a taxi or use a bus service. For the latter, look for an EMTU office (located near the exit gates of the 2 airport terminals), where you can get more information on timetables and destinations in the city, and buy tickets.

If you need a hotel reservation please contact Cristiane Ribeiro.

If you wish to go to the Maresias Hotel by bus on your own, see IV below.

II. For those who will take the school bus in São Paulo.

Meeting points for the bus (August 5th). Make sure you are listed by visiting the link bus list.

São Paulo (departing at 2:30pm).

Itinerary: USP - Hotel area - EMTU office (International Airport) - Maresias beach. See details below:

  • [1] USP - Cidade Universitária - Portão 1 (departing at 2:30pm).
  • [2] Paulista av. and Bela Cintra st. intersection (departing at 3pm). The bus will pick up participants that are waiting at the church corner.
  • [3] International Airport of Guarulhos (São Paulo) (departing at 4:00pm).

The bus will pick up participants that are waiting right in front of each one of the 2 EMTU offices - located near the exit gates of the 2 airport terminals.

III. For those who will take the school bus in Rio de Janeiro.

Meeting point for the bus (August 5th). Make sure you are listed by visiting the link bus list.

Rio de Janeiro (departing at 3pm).

Itinerary: IMPA - Maresias Beach Hotel.

IV. If you are not taking the school bus.

Regular bus line São Paulo/Maresias from the Tietê Bus Terminal.

The bus company is called Litorânea and can be reached at 11 6221-0244. It is located on the upper floor of the station, together with the company Pássaro Marron. The trip takes about 4 hours and the ticket costs R$ 40,45.

There are direct buses from the Guarulhos and Congonhas airports to the Tietê Bus Terminal. From the center of São Paulo, you can also take the blue subway (metrô) line to the Tietê station.
